Broughton Astley Snowman Festival -Orchard Primary
Orchard Primary School Parents' Association presents the first ever Broughton Astley Snowman Festival, raising much needed funds for our small village school.
The OPA (charity number 1072685) raises funds for the school throughout the year, which pays for things like books, bookbags, new play equipment, additional school supplies and also special treats for the children such as pantomime performances and special activities. Schools are only given very basic funding - anything on top of this is usually paid for with funds raised by the OPA.
Due to the pandemic and all of the restrictions currently in place, we're no longer able to host our usual calendar of fundraising events, which means we're nowhere near hitting our target this year. Christmas is a big time of year for Parents' Associations, and usually raise a big chunk of the funds required for our school, but unfortunately none of the usual events such as the Christmas Fayre or Nativity can go ahead.
The team came up with the idea to host a village wide Snowman Festival - safe, festive outdoor fun for all of the family, whilst supporting the school community. Families can take part at home, creating their snowman displays together, and during the weekend visitors can explore the festival whilst maintaining social distancing, discovering all of the amazing displays and enjoying a walk through out beautiful village.
Here's how you can take part...
