Brittany Kelley, Lead Referral Coordinator at Emory Health Care in Stockbridge, Ga. On August 12, 2023, Brittany's birthday, her home caught on fire. She was cooking for her birthday celebration with family and friends. Brittany thought she had turned the stove off and removed the pot. Once it was brought to her attention Brittany tried to remove the pot from inside her home; during the process, it exploded in her face and on her body. From this accident, Brittany has sustained 2nd and 3rd-degree burns covering 25% of her body. She had surgery on August 14, 2023, where she received her first of many skin graphing procedures. Brittany will have PT and OT for several weeks and a lengthy hospital stay.

Brittany and her family have lost most of their personal belongings. While they did have insurance it will only cover a small amount. Brittany will have a long road of recovery and all donations will go toward helping her with finding a new home, medical bills and expenses.
