Bring Out The Good

Donation protected
The current social and political climate is having a negative affect on young people.  As tension runs high and optimism runs low, young public school students are struggling to understand and engage. This year, a small group of dedicated 11-14 year olds took a stand to do what they could to make a change in the school and the community. Together, they have logged a total of 894 hours of community service!  They hosted a bake sale to raise money to prepare and distribute 35 care packages to families in Mexico City who were affected by the Earthquake.  They collected 920 pounds of food, and donated it to the local food bank, in an effort to provide approximately 1540 meals for families in need. In addition, they initiated a Winter Wishes coin drive at the school, and collected $1,240.83 to fill 50 stockings with personal hygiene products for the children of struggling families.

This group also facilitates a 10 week Season of Service, Period of Peace at their school,  from MLK Day on January 16th to Cesar Chavez Day on March 31st, promoting schoolwide activities like no-name calling week, no one eats alone day, a peace pledge, recognition of heroes of service and nonviolence, a stop the violence rally, and much more.  But they need your help! As such a small group they are eager to expand their impact by attending the We Day event in Los Angeles on April 19th, 2018 (www.we.org). The cost of transportation and lodging is outside their reach without the help of your support. If they are going to collaborate with their peers at the We Day event, they need to reserve their travel and lodging by March 30th.

The impact that these students can make by themselves will be much less than what they can accomplish with the combined energy of the We organization, and the 18,000 like-minded children at the event. Please help these students change the world.

The work that these students do supporting local charitable projects makes them keenly aware of the value of philanthropy. Your generous donations will inspire them to work even harder to make a difference.
