Save our family, evacute them to safety from Gaza

Dear compassionate friends and supporters,

I come to you with a story of resilience, love, and the unbreakable bonds of family. Allow me to introduce you to the heart and soul of our family, my mother, Rawda Saymeh.

Rawda's journey is one of unwavering strength and sacrifice. Widowed at the tender age of 40, she embraced the responsibility of raising five daughters with grace and determination. Through her love and sheer willpower, she nurtured us into strong women, and became the beloved grandmother of 15 beautiful grandchildren.

But Rawda's story takes a harrowing turn as she finds herself trapped in the crossfire of an ongoing war in Gaza. The lack of basic necessities like medication, clean water, and food has taken a devastating toll on her and her two daughters, along with her nine grandchildren who remain stranded in the war-torn region.

I speak from firsthand experience of the unimaginable horrors that unfold in Gaza. Having recently been evacuated to Canada with my 2 children, to join my husband and 2 sisters who live in Canada, I have been evacuated from my house under fire where my home and my home neighborhood in north Gaza had been destroyed. After moving to several houses, finally I went to my mother's -Rawda- apartment in the Middle Area (Al-Nuseirat) . I stayed there with my 2 children, and with my 2 sisters -who lost their homes as well- with their children. We lost our homes, our possessions, and the sense of safety we once took for granted.

I recall the chilling moment when airstrikes targeted the building where my mother’s apartment is located, 40 people lost their lives, we miraculously survived. Rawda, our family's steadfast anchor, now finds herself displaced in Rafah, struggling to protect her loved ones amidst the chaos and uncertainty. Lacking access to sanitation, medical supplies, food, water, and warmth.

The situation is dire, and the need for urgent action is undeniable. I humbly appeal to your compassionate hearts to help us raise funds for the emergency evacuation of my mother, Rawda, and my sisters' families from Gaza to rescue their innocent children from the chaos of Gaza. Their survival chances are getting lower and lower by the day. Our goal is to ensure their safety and well-being, whether by resettling them in Canada or facilitating their escape to a safe place.

The funds raised will cover essential expenses, USD 5,000 needs to be paid for each person as fees just to cross Rafah Border and exit Gaza, other expenses such as temporary accommodation in Egypt, passport fees, airfare, clothing, and housing arrangements in Canada.

Your generosity will provide a glimmer of hope to families who have lost everything to the ravages of war, offering them a chance at a new beginning in a place of peace and security.
