April, 2017 a young mom was manipulated into giving her three daughters up for custody due to a church/cult [Follows of Christ, Oregon City, OR] who’s leadership are controlling, manipulating, dangerous and who are compelled to keep their members in line by limiting their access to the outside world. When their members leave the church, they are shunned, verbally abused, threatened, and the members will do anything possible to prevent children from leaving.
NOTE: Katie grew up in this congregation. Her father is a leader and has great influence in the church. The only way you can be a member is to be born into the church. If a member leaves the church for any reason, they will are shunned from having any interaction or relationship with their family or friends. The last two years basically Katie has exhausted all of her resources and continues to work multiple jobs to pay for her legal fees. All Katie wishes is to have her three girls back. There has been absolutely NO Child Protective Services involvement in this situation. She has never been accused or found to be an unfit parent. This is purely her parent’s taking advantage of her in a vulnerable period.
Two years have passed and Katie is finally in a place where she is able to take this to trial. Please consider being a partner so she can return to her rightful place of being the mother of her children full time.
