My name is Melissa Benvegno-Bryant, and I am a middle school special education teacher at Academy of Math and Science. This year, I have 18 incredible scholars in 5th through 8th grade whose families are facing tremendous challenges due to the economy, the government shutdown, and lack of financial support. Many are struggling to put food on the table and provide even the basics for their children.
