Hi, I am Amanda and this is my girl Fiji.

If you know me, you know that I am someone who does not like to ask for help, but here I go.

I’m writing this with a very heavy heart. As some of you may know, or have noticed I have returned to my home. Everything happened so fast and was such a blur. One moment i received the devastating call and then the next day I am all packed and headed to the airport. I had to leave my beloved dog Fiji behind in the U.S. when I moved back. She has been by my side for almost five years—my loyal companion through thick and thin, the one who gave me comfort when I needed it most, and filled my days with unconditional love.

Not having her here with me has been incredibly hard. Every day, I feel the absence of her wagging butt, her weird obsession with knee cap licking, her quirky personality and her warm presence. If you know me, you know that I’m an animal lover through and through—I can’t walk past a dog without stopping to love on them, talk to them like they’re my best friend (because let’s face it, they usually are).

Now I’m trying to raise the funds to bring her home to me. The cost of her international relocation is around $6,000, and anything that’s left over will go directly towards her vet expenses and settling her into her new life here in Latvia. This isn’t something I ever imagined having to ask for help with, but she means the world to me, and I want her to be where she belongs—by my side.
