Bring “Connoly” to the Audacious Owl Theatre Festival!

Hi!

My name is Stefan Diethelm, and I am the playwright/producer of “Connoly”, a new play coming to the Audacious Owl Theatre Festival as part of the Factory Series at the Chain Theatre.

Producing indie theatre has always been financially challenging, and that is even more true in our current times. By supporting productions such as ours, you would help guarantee that humanist, character driven plays still get to flourish, that up-and-coming theatre voices get to develop, and that stories like ours can continue to be told.

”Connoly” follows a teenage girl who is placed in an in-patient mental health facility after surviving an attempt on her own life. Together with her overwhelmed older sister Dingo, and supported by her imaginary best friend Georgie and strict-yet-caring nurse Natalya, she attempts to navigate her recovery, all the while struggling to see a way forward.

”Connoly” is a tragedy of youth, touching on themes of mental health, family and the preciousness of life itself.

If you would choose to support our production (first of all THANK YOU), your donation would help us pay for the following things:

1) Production Costs: Our production anticipates production costs of about $1000, coming in the form of space rental fees for rehearsals, costs to acquire props, print materials and advertise the show. Any money raised beyond the production expenses would go entirely to:

2) Personnel: since our production is so far entirely self-funded, our wonderful creatives are essentially donating their time, so money raised would help us adequately pay them for performances and cover a rehearsal stipend.

Any funding received would be crucial to help us improve the amount and quality of resources we are able to put into this production, and would in turn really improve the final product.
