Bring back outdoor fun - Recball

In a world where most of us spend our days with our heads down hypnotized by the screens of our mobile devices, I have started a company, Recball, which aims to bring back the value of old-school fun that is “outdoor play.” Recball is an automated sports ball rental machine that makes volleyballs, soccer balls, basketballs, and footballs readily accessible on a spontaneous whim with the touch of a button on our free mobile app. We currently have one Recball box at Alfredo’s Beach Club in Long Beach and plan to be at beaches and parks alike. We are eco-friendly, convenient, and most importantly, fun! Recball is on a mission to get kids to put the phones down and “go play in traffic,” like our parents used to say. One thing that has gotten away from us in this day and age is the value of “outside play”.

Boris Boundjia, founder of Recball, a former DII Basketball player, and current Basketball coach and trainer, has made it his life’s mission to encourage an active and healthy lifestyle one sports ball at a time.  It is a cause he holds closely to his heart. Boris uses training and coaching as a way to mentor the youth and shape them into outstanding members of society. Along with teammate Alexxa Uslan, Human Resources professional and communications major, the two of them use their daily experiences to push a forgotten past time.  Playing a sport or simply being outside and playing with a ball can teach children and young adults the significance of team work, determination, ambition, drive, discipline, and work ethic that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives. It is Recball’s mission to bring back outdoor play and promote an active, healthy lifestyle while still having fun.
