Bring Baby Setayash Home

We are the Shahi family. We worked with the American coalition over in Afghanistan. Our hope was that someday we could come to America to live.
On short notice, U.S. Immigration granted us permission to travel. We were given only a five day window to prepare. This was of course good news but difficult to embrace, because our newborn daughter, Setayash, did not have the necessary documents to travel.
We made the agonizing decision to leave our 3 week old daughter with family in Afghanistan and then pursue obtaining the necessary papers to be reunited soon.
Now we have secured the proper documentation for our baby. We have been given an April 17th interview appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, which one of her parents is required to be present for.
As a recent refugee family, we are working very hard to establish ourselves here. We do not have the necessary funds for a round trip plane ticket to Afghanistan, but we must somehow bring her home to us.
We live in Kansas City and our children attend North Kansas City Schools. We are grateful for the support of wonderful people here and we ask that you consider helping us bring Setayash home.
