Please help support my cause for a fair custody for my daughter.

“He who is without sin can cast the first stone” in John 8:7

Hello, my name is Stephanie Lara. I am a proud Mama of my 12-year-old daughter, Addison, nicknamed Fancy Face since birth. I am currently a program coordinator at Texas Tech University, where I have been employed for almost 8 years. I have always loved caring for and working with children, even before giving birth to my daughter. I have served as a former volunteer for Ronald McDonald House Charities and CASA.

Nothing compares to the time I get to spend with my daughter. She has been my everything since the moment I was told I was pregnant. She talks to me about God, Jesus, school, boys, Patrick Mahomes, sports, workout, and cheer routines. We share a bond like no other mother-daughter duo. She is the light of my life, and she always comes first, behind God and Jesus.

I have been in a joint custody battle for 11 years and counting. In that time, I have exhausted all my financial resources. The father's refusal to look past our differences and choose to successfully co-parent our daughter with me. If we cannot put her first as parents, then we are failing her. My daughter should not be subjected to hearing or being told disparaging remarks about her mother, and vice versa.

This long battle to regain full custody over joint custody has left me with no choice but to ask for help outside of myself. I hope that by asking for help with my legal fees, my community, family, Broadway Church of Christ family, work family, and friends can help me reach my goal to bring justice for my daughter. I would love to have her back with me, experiencing everyday mother-daughter moments like walks in the park, trips to public libraries, grocery store runs, church services, and my work events, and just quality mother-daughter time.

I do not want to tear my child apart from her father. We both attend church and if we are true believers than we should be open to doing the Godly thing to put aside our animosity and look at the well-being of our child. No mom or dad is perfect; both our pasts indicate that. My continued prayers are for my daughter to be allowed the opportunity to enjoy life for the first time as a normal 12-year-old child. Her worries should be about school, clothes, hair, makeup, shoes to wear, manicures and pedicures with her mama or dad; I am open to both of us spoiling her. This custody battle should not be about her mother and father going to war. We should be united as co-parents to do our best to see that our child is healthy, happy, protected, but above all, loved, and that it's okay for her to love both mother and father without hiding it.

Rain or shine, I am the consistent parent that she can look up to and know that I will be there rooting her on. I have not missed one of her events. I am my daughter's safe place and first and last line of defense since she entered this world. Never in my entire life would I have imagined a mother like myself, who absolutely loves, adores, and protects her child, would be in this 11-year custody battle, being separated from her right now, because the other parent is more financially set. I will continue to fight for what is right. I love my daughter. I have never hurt or harmed her. I never brought another man, other than her father, around her. I guard her and just want to spend my time loving on my kid. Please help me reach my goal to bring my daughter home to me. Thank you for your time. Be blessed.
