Brian's Phoenix Fund

As some of you know, my friend, Brian Bonarti was evacuated due to the fires in the North Bay/Santa Rosa on Monday morning.  Wednesday we got the bad news that EVERYTHING is gone and the building /contents were a complete loss.  Due to a deep sleep, Brian was one of the last people to be evacuated and he had no time to grab any of his belongings.  It’s an incredibly surreal experience to stand in front of the washing machine and realize that you are putting the entirety of another man’s belongings – shirt, pants and socks – in with your own laundry.  50 years of hard earned belongings, cherished photos, personal momentos, and irreplaceable instruments are ALL GONE. 

We are so grateful that Brian did not get hurt (or worse) during the fire.  He is safe and living with me for the time being.  (Truth be told, I think Buster is enjoying the company and having his own personal live-in chest & butt scratcher)

Many of you have reached out to me wanting to know how they could help.  Brian was resistant to putting this “go fund me” together because “so many people have it worse than me”.  Being an ICU nurse in a busy Level I trauma center, Brian has seen people at their rock bottom. He has helped so many people during their time of need and in the most difficult situations.  As his friends and family, it’s our turn to help him in his time of need.  It’s time to put ourselves in his shoes (the only shoes he has) and show him the support and love that he needs right now. 

Funds will be used to help him relocate and replace some of his lost belongings.
