WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
We are aiming to raise a minimum of £5000 to support The River Manchester, a charity that supports victims of domestic abuse. Covid-19 is impacting nearly every part of our daily lives, it has also caused huge problems for charities as donations have dried up; charity shops have closed, events have been cancelled and a lot of funds have been redirected to help the fight against the coronavirus.
This has been particularly prevalent to The River Manchester which has seen donations fall due to the closure of their charity shop. This is at a time when domestic abuse has sky-rocketed due to people being confined to their homes, so any money we raise will be an absolute lifeline for the charity.
At Brewin Dolphin Manchester, we have set ourselves a challenge to ‘Race across Europe’ from one river (the Irwell in Manchester) to another (the Bosporus in Istanbul), covering a distance of 2000 miles. However, lockdown conditions mean we will have to do the challenge ‘virtually’. This means that our 50 strong team will contribute to the distance from home, whether that be by riding their bikes, running, walking and even rowing.
Starting Tuesday 26th May, in just 7 days we have runners, cyclists, rowers and walkers, all working together to get to the finish line.
We’ll be posting our progress on Linkedin throughout the challenge to chart our journey through the heart of Europe, visiting some amazing cities along the way and, if I can convince them, a bit of fancy dress as we go!
