Breast Cancer Support For Terra

I have created this Gofundme on behalf of my youngest daughter, Terra. She is getting ready for breast surgery to remove the cancer in her left breast and a sentinel node biopsy to ensure the lymph nodes are clear. The last several months have been very difficult, but we are hoping to ease some of the financial burden she is facing right now. Any and all support is much appreciated.

Hello, my name is Terra, and I'm reaching out in a time of great challenge and uncertainty. In June I discovered a lump in my left breast. I ignored it for a few weeks but ultimately decided to have it checked out. In July I went in for a mammogram and ultrasound and after a biopsy it was confirmed to be breast cancer. This has been a shock to say the least. The journey since that initial discovery has been a rollercoaster of emotions. The original diagnosis was difficult to hear, and it was made even more complicated by the discovery of a new lump in my right breast during the waiting period for further testing and an incidental finding of an ascending aortic aneurysm. Coping with this has been a test of patience, strength, and resilience. As I navigate the challenging path ahead, I have made the decision to pursue specialized care at UCSF. I believe that UCSF provides the expertise and resources required to guide me through this journey, from appointments and treatment to the eventual surgery in December.

I'm reaching out to you for support during this difficult period. I never ask for help, but this has been a huge financial burden and I have had to take an extended amount of time off of work to travel for tests and other appointments. I will also be taking off 2-3 weeks post surgery for recovery. The funds I'm raising will go directly towards helping me cover travel expenses, medical bills, and sustaining me during my time off work. I am deeply grateful for any support you can provide.
