From Brandon’s sister Danielle

On December 26th, my brother Brandon was the passenger in a tragic car accident near Cranbrook, BC. The vehicle he was in collided head-on with another car, leaving him with life-altering injuries. He was airlifted to Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB, where he remains in critical care.

Brandon has suffered severe injuries, including:

- A hematoma to his brain

- A broken femur

- A broken collarbone

- A fractured spine

- Fluid buildup in/around his lungs (still being assessed)

Brandon has already undergone surgeries for his leg and collarbone and is awaiting treatment for his spine and possibly his lungs. Once his lungs are cleared, a back brace is made and he is cleared by the trauma team, he will be transferred back to Cranbrook’s Hospital to begin his long and challenging recovery.

The Impact on Our Family:

When we first received news of the accident, our mother (Lana) and I had to book emergency flights to Calgary to be by Brandon’s side. Due to the holiday season and last-minute bookings, the costs were atrociously high, adding another financial burden to an already difficult situation.

Brandon’s recovery will be long and complicated. His Cerebral Palsy adds an extra layer of challenge, making his healing process more intensive and time-consuming than it might be for someone without his condition. Our mother and I will stepping up as his primary caregivers, which will require us to potentially take significant time off work. This financial strain is compounded by Brandon’s inability to work for the foreseeable future.

How Your Support Will Help:

The funds raised will go directly toward:

- Hospital bills and transportation costs

- Emergency travel expenses and future transportation needs

- Rent, utilities, and daily living expenses

- Food and other necessities for Brandon and our family

-Any equipment he may need to modify his home for better mobility and recovery

This money will not only help us focus on Brandon’s immediate needs but also ensure we can provide him with the best care long-term. Once Brandon reaches a stage where he is more stable, funds will also go toward affording home care to help him transition to a more comfortable recovery while maintaining his independence.
