Brady, Megan, and Blakely NICU support

ORIGINAL STORY:

Hi all, I know a lot of you have been following our pregnancy journey with little Miss Blakely Shay. Things have been anything but normal since our 20 week scan which told us she has congenital defect CDH. Since then, we have been preparing to lose our sweet girl after birth since her numbers and prognosis have been so poor. As we get closer to her arrival, despite the poor prognosis and likely very difficult outcome, we realize that we want to try with everything in us to save her and keep her here with us and felt that we have to at least try. There is a lot that comes with that and many things behind the scenes that everyone may not know about or understand, but we are putting our faith and every bit of love we have into this decision and her life. Things could very easily and quickly go wrong, and in the end we may still lose her, but a miracle could happen and we could get to see our girl grow up with us.

We are asking for everyone’s help now. We are looking at a very long ~6-9month hospital/NICU stay and extra needs if/when she does get to come home with us. Neither Brady or I qualify for FMLA/maternity/paternity leave since we both started new jobs recently.. our lives rely on both of us working full time. we are scared and unprepared to say the least.

This GoFundMe will help us cover hospital bills, baby items, gas, mortgage, utilities, and, if we have to in the end, funeral costs for Blakely. We know so many people have helped us already, and if the most you can do now is offer emotional support and comfort, that is needed just as much as physical. We love and appreciate all of you.

We are nearing the end now (induction is set for February 2) and will be making a mad dash to prepare our home and a nursery in hopes of bringing her home with us.
