What Happened

On August 1st, Richard went into the hospital for what was supposed to be a simple procedure. Unfortunately, complications arose, and he required a major surgery. Since then, he has been in the ICU for the past three weeks and will remain hospitalized for some time. Even once he is discharged, he will need rehab to regain his strength and continue healing.

Why We’re Asking for Help

This unexpected turn of events has not only been overwhelming emotionally but also financially. Richard is self-employed and does not receive benefits, so with him unable to work we have completely lost his income. Covering monthly expenses and preparing for his recovery is especially difficult on a teacher’s salary, and we are doing our best to make ends meet during this challenging time.
