Care Kits for Kids
Donation protected
My name is Leah Carter, I am a senior in high school attending Spectrum High School. I am hosting a community service project where I will create backpacks full of supplies for foster care children in need. Most children, when taken out of their parental care and entering foster care, are left with nothing. Most are taken right from school with nothing but the clothes they are wearing and their school backpacks. It is difficult for these children to move into a new home, so my goal is to make care packages to make the transition easier.
I am partnering with Safe Haven Shoppe in Lindstrom, MN. It is a shop run by a wonderful woman named Anita. She provides free supplies for children in foster care and homeless children in need. The children can come into the store and grab supplies as needed and head on their way. Once my care kits have been created, I will bring them to this shop for the children. We are hoping to also partner with a bigger organization that will hand them out directly to the children when they are taken out of their homes.
To make this happen, I need your help. All funds will go into buying supplies for these backpacks. Thank you!
