Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge

The task is to complete the Yorkshire 3 peak challenge. Walking almost a marathon distance and climbing higher than Ben Nevis in under 12 hours. It's an extremely tough and challenging day, both physically and mentally, but I'm fully prepared for the challenge.

JAMES WILLIAM CORDINER 2nd MAY 1997 – 5th AUGUST 2022

I was devastated when my nephew passed away this summer (2022) A young man full of life and with great big ambitions. His horizon was endless. His love for his family and friends was so visible at his funeral in the love, laughter and respect that was palpable throughout the day. His legacy is evident; live your life and stay true to your spirit. What he was sure about was that he wanted to see the world, take risks and experience life in all its beauty and wildness. He had a deep fear of being settled in one place and not recognising the opportunities in life beyond. He would call it a small-town mentality.

I feel I have a responsibility to “get out of this town” take the baton and run with it, to honour his spirit of adventure and his generosity in life. In his honour I want to take on the Yorkshire three peaks and raise money for a local community group Wythenshawe Good Neighbours. I have volunteered with this group from its very beginnings, and I see first-hand the social, cultural and creative opportunities this group offer to older people in my community.

I am asking that you donate as much as you can afford as I walk in memory of James Cordiner. This act of giving may give my family and James's friends a future space and time to reflect on a very short-lived life on this earth and the legacy of giving he has left with us all.

In doing so I can also raise much needed funds for Wythenshawe Good Neighbours CIC (12477405) to continue their great work and in memory and deep respect for the life of my nephew James William Cordiner.
