COVID-19 has created one of the most difficult moments in world history, a moment that will never be forgotten. The impact of COVID-19 is being felt across the country and communities big and small, in ways we could have never imagined. Beyond the global health crisis, the coronavirus is having severe impacts on individuals, small businesses, and health care organizations.

Why should you care?
Healthcare workers are working longer hours and extra shifts in harsher conditions every single day and night. Local restaurants are being hit especially hard because they're unable to serve the majority of their regular customers without traditional dine-in service. Sending meals benefits both local restaurants and healthcare workers by providing ready-to-eat meals for the frontline and generating revenue for the restaurants.

Who are we?
We are three high school students trying to help out our community during these unprecedented times. Our goal is to support our local restaurants while also giving back to our hospitals. To accomplish this, we started a nonprofit organization, Food For Heroes.

What are these funds for?
These funds will be used to directly purchase individually packaged meals from local restaurants. They will go to our frontline workers who are treating COVID-19 patients. We want them to know the community is there for them.

How does it work?
We directly work with restaurants and hospitals to coordinate meal deliveries. We avoid meal delivery services such as UberEats and DoorDash in order to maximize profits for our restaurants by directly sending them funds.

How much should I donate?
No amount is too little or too big. For context, we're aiming for one healthy meal to cost around $10; 30 meals would cost around $300.  Our goal is to feed as many healthcare workers as possible.
