Dear Boqueria Guests,
Thank you. The outpouring of support you have shown us over the past weeks has been incredible. Your optimism and encouragement have kept us going through the anxiety and uncertainty. Like most restaurants, as part of closing our doors in DC, NY and Chicago we have been forced to lay off most of our team, nearly 500 employees. Effective as of last Friday, neither Marc nor I have been drawing a salary until we reopen so as much money as possible can be directed to helping our team. Despite this, we have limited resources, and many of you have asked how you can help.
While unemployment benefits will help many employees, they will not be enough to fully cover the needs of our team and their families. To ensure support is provided to those most in need, we are establishing The Boqueria Relief Fund.
You can make a donation here or by purchasing Boqueria gift cards - 100% of proceeds from now until March 30th will go toward the fund.
To kick off the fund, I, along with Boqueria Board members Paul Fleming, Rick Federico and Sally Brophy, will each be donating $5,000.
Thank you for your continued support. We are committed to staying strong so we can reopen when the crisis passes and once again provide employment to hundreds of people in New York, Chicago and DC.
