Boomers Boosters

Boomer came to Lily's Legacy Senior Dog Sanctuary as a 9year old 108 lb. beloved pet of a homeless person.  Her love for her dog led her to surrender him.  Once at Lily's, he started on a new lifestyle.  With daily exercise & copious amounts of love, Boomer started losing weight and enjoying life.  One of Lily's most compassionate volunteers took Boomer under her wing, fostering him in her home. His transformation started slowly... but steadily he was losing weight.  Now, one year later, Beloved Boomer weighs in at a svelte 87 lbs. Throughout Boomers weight loss, a fierce bond and love so strong formed.  His foster mom became his permanent furever mom. 

On a recent trip to the vet for his regular check up, Boomer was diagnosed with a heart murmur.  Upon examination by a cardiologist, it was determined Boomer has leakage in his heart valve.  This causes an enlarged heart, a part of heart disease.  Currently he does not have fluid around the heart. He is not in heart failure yet.  Although it will happen one day,  we are not ready to give up on this gentle giant.  The cardiologist has recommended two different medications that will help   the heart function more efficiently and hopefully slow the progression of Boomers' disease.  Before starting the medications, Boomer needs a full dental cleaning.

The costs have exceeded $2,000.00 with another $1,000.00 expected for upcoming treatment.  Ongoing monthly medication will run over $100.00 a month.

Boomers' mom is living on a modest income.  Her generous heart opened itself to a new world of being a dog mom.  Yes, Boomer is her very first dog.  WHO SAVED WHOM??
