Book Truck for Rowan County

Hi, my name is Alissa Redmond and I have owned South Main Book Company in downtown Salisbury NC for 3 years. The bookstore has played host to countless story hours, book signings, and special events - and we want to take these on the road.

The plan is to purchase a Japanese mini truck so we can easily haul books across Rowan County. We will use the truck to fill Little Free Libraries, host story hours in book deserts, and foster spontaneous literacy promotion where our community resides. We want to bring books to where people congregate - parks, parades, community centers.

Books open doors and show us the world. Our store will be on Main Street in Salisbury for years to come, but not every kid can get to us. We plan to take our love of literature to the streets - help us get there?
