Boat Restoration and Cancer Relief Fund

Hi, my name is Mark. I got this cat.

Her name is BOAT!

AKA Boapy, Choaby, Sweat Pants, Schweapy, Buggy, Buggo, Chuggo, Chuggy, Baby Chug. Her favorite past times is lumping on the couch, playing with her favorite toy O.G. Pumpkin (also known as Oogie Pump), and eating very safe and healthy amounts of ice cream.

On July 3rd 2023 she was brought to an emergency veterinary clinic due to urgent gastrointestinal issues. During this time they performed an x-ray of her abdomen where a mass was found in her lower lung. After blood tests, x-rays, CT scans, and aspiration she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma (Lung Cancer).

This came to a huge surprise as Boat had been acting like the same old little bubby as she has been and had no symptoms of lung cancer.

After consultations with an Oncologist and a Surgeon, we concluded that surgery will be the best course of action to stop the cancer from spreading to the rest of her body which will eventually kill her within the next few weeks/months.

Both the Oncologist and Surgeon both agree that between the current size and location of the cancer cells along with her general health that Boat is prime candidate to make a full recovery from the surgery and significantly slowing her lung cancer.

Boat has so many more days to feel the sunshine on her belly, taste great treats and take big naps on the couch - and I think that ignoring the doctor's suggestions would be a mistake.

So far the finical obligation for Boat's care has been covered by myself, which has been roughly $5,200. The surgery which will require a partial lobectomy, anesthesia, and post surgery care (up to two days) will cost between $8,202.61.
