Volunteer Trip to bless Israel

Please help me raise money for a humanitarian aid trip to Israel. I am co-leading a team of 40 people from RiverStone Church. You may be thinking … what is he doing? … Israel is in the middle of a contentious geo-political, religious, and a long-term historical conflict.
Well, we will be going to serve those in need ... and there are many. To some we will provide and serve food. To others we will provide basic medical services and to still more we will be there to provide basic humanitarian aid. We will be there to serve - regardless of race or religion. We will be serving Muslims, Christians and Jews. This service will demonstrate the power of grace, and mercy and the love of Jesus in bringing some peace and hope into the lives of many people.
On Saturday, August 16th, 2014, I will be competing in the "Triathawod" at Warrior Pride Fitness.(www.warriorpridefitness.com)
It is a 23.2 mile endurance race that includes a 5K row, a 15 mile Airdyne bike ride followed by a 5 mile run. So let’s put this into perspective. It has been 40 years since I ran 5 miles for time, and I recently had rotator cuff surgery which may impact my ability to row. Add to that - I may be the oldest competitor in the group.
Life can often bring us enduring challenges and this is one that I believe I am up for. Imagine the continuing trials that all of the people living in and around Israel face. Regardless of one’s political or religious beliefs, it is hard to refute the challenges that exist for anyone to live in this region of the world. I am asking you to support this endeavor by contributing $25, $50, $100 or whatever you wish, and help our team of 40 people bring some hope, love and mercy to these people in need. Help us shine a light in the darkness.
The goal here is to raise money for the mission team. 100% of the money raised (net after paying the website for their services – approximately 92%) will go to the team.
