Blue Surge - A Staged Reading at the Chain Theatre
Spende geschützt
About the Producers:
Gray Thurstone and Jeremy McClelland graduated from the Stella Adler Studio of Acting together in 2022, but never had the chance to share the stage - that’s why we are producing a Staged Reading of Blue Surge by Rebecca Gilman at The Chain Theatre at 312 West 36th St!
They are both passionate about live theater, collaborating with other emerging artists, and telling stories that aren't always black and white - and honestly, we just love performing!
What is Blue Surge all about?
Blue Surge explores the strenuous relationship between class mobility and the circumstances of one's birth. The characters confront how their past has brought them to where they are now, and which options seem to be available to them because of it. Despite being written over two decades ago (2001) Blue Surge still removes the rose tinted glasses the United States has over the majority of its middle and lower classes.
Fortunately, we have already obtained the rights to perform the play three times at the end of March! We are crowdfunding $750 to cover the cost of the rights and to pay our cast and crew. That’s it! We are incredibly grateful to The Chain Theatre, without whom, this production simply would not be possible.
Thank you so much for your support!
