Blue Goose Restoration Project

Tax deductible
Would you like to be part of the restoration project of the prototype Twin Commander, the Blue Goose? The Blue Goose was the first post-war clean design business twin engine aircraft in America. She first flew on April 23, 1948 in California. CAA certification occurred in 1950 and on May 9, 1951, she was flown nonstop from Oklahoma City to Washington, D.C. with the left propeller stowed in the baggage compartment to prove its single engine safety to the world. The Blue Goose has been in the process of being restored at Francis Tuttle Vo-Tech for over ten years with countless sheet metal students learning the art of airframe fabrication and repair during the process. The City of Bethany has deeded the Blue Goose to the Oklahoma History Center so that it can be maintained and displayed in a first class manner.
Now, we are at the end of the road and a team has been assembled to facilitate the trip to its final resting place in Eldon Lyon Park just south of the Commander factory in Bethany, OK. Although we’ve had donation commitments for paint, trucking and crane services, display pedestal engineering/design and construction, we’re in need of some good old fashion cash to be able to make this happen. Members of the Amis family have donated $7500 as seed money and our goal is to raise an additional $30,000 to make the Blue Goose display a beautiful and long lasting attraction that will last in perpetuity.  Would you please consider a donation for this noble cause?Your generous donation to the Friends of the Oklahoma History Center Inc,  will assure that this mission is completed.  .

Friends of the Oklahoma History Center Inc. will maintain and protect the Blue Goose so that future generations can experience firsthand, the  birth of twin engine business aviation and it all happened right here in Oklahoma City.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
