The Bloomsburg University Student Veterans Association (BUSVA) is a student-led organization focused on supporting military students in their transition from military to college while also bringing awareness to challenges military members and their families and friends may face. BUSVA is comprised of not only military students, but also military dependents, supporters, and members of Army and Air Force ROTC.
In the fall semester, BUSVA sets up a flag display in memory of the lives lost in 9/11 and Pearl Harbor in the grass "Quad" in the center of campus. If you search "BUSVA" on Facebook and look in past news articles, you can see the impact these displays have on not only the campus community but the surrounding community as well. Members of the surrounding community come to campus to pay their respects, and some leave notecards of information dedicated to the lives lost.
With all this said, the flags BUSVA uses are in need of replacement; multiple stems have been broken or become weak due to the weather and usage. BUSVA wants to be able to continue these displays for years to come, but there is becoming a shortage in the flags.
If you are able, please consider making a donation to us so we are able to purchase new flags so these displays can continue and/or share our story with those you know. Your support is greatly appreciated as we would not be able to provide our students with the opportunities we do without our supporters.
