Hello! I would like to introduce you to my very good friends: the Levi family. I met Success in a BYU-I math class in September 2019. Our class met in a Zoom meeting once a week, and over the semester we just became buddies. Success mentioned that his wife, Blessing, was pregnant with their first child. I asked if I could send the baby a little gift. And thus, a friendship was born.

During the lockdowns at the beginning of this year, their country, Nigeria, was severely locked down. Success lost his job. He found one again, but at a third of his previous salary. Right now he is doing all he can to care for his family. Success is a wonderful husband to Blessing, and a doting father to Success Jr.. Success also works, is a full time BYU-I student, and holds the position of first counselor in a bishopric of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His college major is Public Health, and will be graduating this time next year (2021). Blessing already has a four year degree in Accounting, and as well as being a full time mother and wife, she was just called to be the Relief Society President in her ward. They have had a desire to and impression that they should to immigrate from Nigeria to either Sweden, Canada, or the United States. When Success mentioned that, I immediately thought of the empty apartment over my garage. I offered it, and he took me up on that offer- if they ever made it to the United States.

For a while it was just a pie in the sky dream, but as domestic and political tensions have become severe, the dream suddenly became a need. One night I received a short, desperate plea from Success: "Gunshots, anarchy in my country, please pray for us.". Blessing has told me of roving mobs and things being set on fire close to their apartment. I worry a lot about my friends' safety and well-being, so we began in earnest to make this happen. Economic realities make it nearly impossible for the family to save enough for the relocation process. This is why I have set up a GoFundMe for their family.

Success and Blessing want the best for their little boy, and unfortunately, growing up in Nigeria at this time is not the best for their son. It is not best for them, either (Blessing had to spend eight of her nine months of pregnancy without electricity). The Levi family would bring a variety of education, diversity, and an experience that will enrich all lives here in the United States. They are both educated. They speak Igbo, and are 100% proficient in English. Success decided to use his savings for an LDS mission to Ghana instead of going to college, that is why he is currently in school. They are hard-working, joyful, kind, and some of the best people I have even known.

They already have a place to land-my apartment. Blessing has skills to begin work immediately. Soon after, Success will have his degree and will be able to enter the workforce. Everything is in place except the means to get here. They are are doing everything they can in Nigeria. Success wishes to be able to provide better for his family. Blessing desires a safe place in which to raise my grandson. They both have a great desire to be in a place that allows them to fulfill their full potential. I am asking on their behalf for assistance. Being able to immigrate to the United States would mean the world to them-literally. Living here would change the entire direction of all of their lives. They just wish to be safe, to be able to bloom, and to live their lives on their terms. They are the most grateful people I know. Please know that they never once asked for anything. It was my offering only that began this whole process.

Please consider helping this wonderful family.  Thank you.
