Presenting the Roller Disco is one of my most satisfying experiences. Over the years it has also become one of my most expensive endeavors. There are many changes in the Burning Man experience as a whole that has more than a few theme camps scrambling for survival. Costs are always going up. We must come up with a solution.
This year is unique as we need to do what it takes to make a roller rink floor that can last for at least 5 years and create a situation where we can store it inside and not exposed to the elements. The playa is not very forgiving on the wood we use for the roller rink floor. We have come up with a plan to build a magnificent roller disco floor that will be able to withstand anything the playa has to offer and keep it stored safe and dry.
We plan to build a portable roller rink floor 120 ft by 60 ft. That's 225 sheets of 3/4 inch sanded plywood We will treat each sheet with several coats of polyurethane. We have already purchased a 22ft box truck where we will store the roller disco floor along with the roller skates and other gear that goes with creating roller disco magic at Burning Man.
The plywood, polyurethane and other materials to make this right will cost about $8,500.00. So far I have raised nearly 3,500.00 I need $5,000.00 more to reach my goal.I am asking you to help me to raise at least $3,000.00 of this on GoFundMe.
Please help me to continue to spread "rolligion" both on the playa and throughout the land.
