Birthday Fundraiser to Cover Scars

Hey y'all! My name is Lola and I go by Jellybean Green (or just JB) on YouTube. For almost 8 years, I've been creating ASMR video to help people who struggle with stress, depression, PTSD, difficulty sleeping, and other concerns.

 

Many of you know that I have my own history of mental health struggles. What many of you may not know is that I have extensive self-harm scars on my body from some particularly bad mental health episodes years back. With lots of hard work and professional help, I've come a very long way since then! I'm happy to say that my mental health has been generally quite good and stable for a long while now. However, my scars are a permanent reminder of much darker times.

 

After a couple years of debating whether this was a step I truly wanted to take, I have finally decided that I want to cover up the worst of the scars, which are mostly on my upper legs and thighs. And, with my 40th birthday coming up on June 7, I thought I might open up an opportunity for my friends and viewers to contribute toward my tattoo cover up fund, as a birthday present.

 

Important notes:

 

1. I'm planning to get these tattoos no matter what! Please don't feel like you *have* to donate or I won't be able to get the work done. Donations will simply determine how soon I'm able to get them. If I can fundraise the full amount, I should be able to get both tattoos this summer. Otherwise, I will simply have to be patient and spread the work out over the next 2 or 3 years.

 

2. I estimate that my leg/thigh tattoos will be around $1,000 each, since they will need to cover a fairly large area and will also need to be pretty detailed/filled in to really cover up all the scarring. Those of you who are very familiar with tattoos know that the cost can vary quite a bit depending on a number of factors, but $2,000 total seemed like a safe midrange estimate. If I'm able to raise additional funds beyond what's required for the leg tattoos, I plan to also cover up some additional scarring on my wrist/arm.
