Bill Travels to HAITI!

Donation protected
Many of you who know me understand my passion for family and church.  I first learned of Healing Haiti from my involvement in Serenity Village Community Church (SVCC). Serenity Village has not only become my church home, but has pushed me to new levels of my faith journey.

Three of my 4 children have gone to Haiti with an SVCC church group.  Each returned changed spiritually, emotionally tuned in to the needs of the Haitian people, and told me that I should go.  Generally, a trip like this would not be a consideration.  A few weeks ago, at church pastor put out a call to the congregation for people to search within themselves, and if the “tug of God was heart felt”, we should sign up.

After the service Cindy and I were talking to people in the fellowship hall.  I walked out of the conversation to the sign-up table.  I picked up the list and put it back down.  I returned to the conversation that I had abandoned.  My friend Keith asked why I walked away the way I did.  I told him that I didn’t know why I was looking at the sign-up sheet.  He said “Bill, that’s the tug!”  I turned around, walked back to the table and signed up.  I’m going to Haiti and it feels so right!

I was humbly chosen to participate in the mission trip in January 2018. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and this is truly my time to go to Haiti to be the hands and feet of our Lord.

As I begin preparing for this journey, I kindly ask for your help. With any trip, there are costs that are involved. These costs will include the physical stay in Haiti, food, and money toward the gracious people that guide us on the trip. I greatly appreciate any donations towards my trip. To donate toward those costs, simply copy and paste this link (https://healinghaiti.managedmissions.com/MyTrip/billjohnson1) and then click the red "Donate" button in the top right corner. I please ask that you also keep me & my wonderful team in your prayers during the third week of January as we embark on this trip.

I have also setup a Go Fund Me page as well which will aid in the cost of my airfare to simply get to Haiti. There is a new program there where we can use the money to buy items that are needed on a more immediate basis.  How you donate money to this trip is your choice.  And if you don’t, that’s OK.  Just be sure to add me and our group to your thoughts and prayers.  We are embarking on what I suspect will be a life changing experience.

This will not be an easy trip, but will be so rewarding in so many ways. During our week of mission work, there is a lot planned. I wanted to share with you one of the planned days of mission work. We will be spending a day with the sick & dying children of Haiti. During this specific day, we will simply be feeding the children & praying over them to help ease their pain & suffering. I know this day will be extremely difficult for me, however I know that my prayers will assist in their journey to the rejoicing arms of our father.

I have no idea what to expect, however I know that each of my team members and I were chosen for a specific reason. I am so excited to be able to be a part of this amazing mission.

Sincerely,

Bill Johnson
