Bikes for Refugees
Donation protected
Hello, we are a couple living in Bray, County Wicklow and we have set up several initiatives with the aim of providing practical help to refugees. We have been running a free bike scheme since May, 2022 with great success and so far have deployed over 100 bikes to refugees in South Dublin and North Wicklow. Many use their bikes for key activities like work commuting, shopping and recreation.
The bikes are donated by the public but they are often in need of TLC and refurbishment. We provide the labour free of charge but are seeking funding to purchase the necessary spare parts such as tyres, cables, mudguards, locks and lights.
Providing bikes to refugees has proved to be a very useful social initiative and demonstrates our support for some of the most vulnerable new members of our community. Your help would be greatly appreciated! No donation is too small.
