Bike to Care for Groot Eiland & Krok en Ko.

In early May, eight Belgian sommeliers will participate in a cycling race (Bike to Care) of 200 km over 2 days in Bordeaux. Ten teams from different countries will compete to raise funds for good causes related to the gastronomy industry. The Belgian team is being supported by Thienpont Wine, who togheter with the sommeliers, is spearheading the efforts to raise funds for the two charities.

We are supporting two charities: Groot Eiland an initiative which supports less fortunate young people by providing an education in gastronomy and secondly a support program called Krok & Ko which gives people with physical or mental disabillaties, the chance to work in their own restaurant and become integrated into the local community.

We would like to request your help in this project by supporting one of the following goals:

1. Donation for the project:

Support the charity by depositing a donation of your choice. This amount will go entirely to one of the two charities. Every financial support contributes to the evolution of our society and gives more opportunities to people who have been less fortunate in the past.

2. Attending the Sommelier Battle:

Join us for a wonderful Sommelier Battle where five sommeliers pit themselves against each other to find the best wine and good matching at a gastronomic dinner. The dinner will be held at 19h00 at Paul de Pierre restaurant in Maarkedal. This fun evening will not only comprise a great wine and food matching dinner but also a live auction where you can bid on 20 carefully curated gastronomic experiences and feel the excitement as the tension mounts for the exclusive auction lots.

3. Fine wine Charity Auction by Carlo Bonte:

The on-line auction will be curated by Carlo Bonte and starts online on Saturday the 15th of April & ends during our closing event the 30th of April. The exclusive auction will include a selection of various iconic wines, culinary experiences, wine masterclasses, dinners at fine restaurants, travels to great wine regions and lots more. All proceeds from the auction will go directly to Eat vzw and Krok & Ko, providing vital support for their important missions.
