Sending this note as a matter of urgency. In Bihar, more than 150 people have lost their life and around 1.5 crore people are badly affected by massive floods in 17 districts of Bihar.

KF team is involved intensely in relief operations, reaching out to the flood affected people in Purnia and East Champaran districts to save lives and support people survive this dreadful situation.

We are falling in short of Resources (Money and Material) to do this life saving work.

Please do take it as an URGENT APPEAL to join KF in its campaign “Helping Hand” to provide help to people survive and live through this catastrophe. The situation is alarming and grim at ground. Numbers of death from flood toll are pouring in and those over 1.5 crore marooned in 17 districts of the state are living in hope of getting some help from you and us to survive this devastation

Below described KF’s three step model is being followed to do rescue and rehabilitation work in 8 blocks of 2 severely affected district Purnia and East Champaran reaching out to 10000 population.

STEP-2: Second step addressess post flood epidemic. Here we will focus on

•Health camps

•Later on we would need to provide warm blankets for winter (starting November end) as people have lost most of their belongings.

STEP-3: Since the standing crops have vanished and people have lost their belongings, livelihood and survival is going to be a big challenge. So, we will be helping farmers and farm labours to do farming and will support through
