A little about us:

Our organization https://bhelpfullove.org/ is designed to assist our senior citizen community with everyday living in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties.  Our vision is to “Aspire to Inspire others to B Helpful to our senior citizen community”.  Our mission is to provide the senior citizen community with the most accessible resources that will help them maintain their quality of life.

What funding will be used for:

Travel with a Purpose Literacy Program Our literacy program creates an opportunity for all participants to gain the following skills: ·         Reading Comprehension ·         Basic Math ·         Beginner Technology ·         GED inquiry assistance.  All four skills are led by experienced and highly qualified teacher volunteers.  As all our teaching volunteers have completed and met the Department of Health and Human Services requirements to teach in public, private and/or in a licensed childcare facility.  According to www.proliteracy.org, more that 36 million adults in the United States can’t read, write or do basic math above a 3rd grade level (2019).  This will be beneficial to seniors by helping them to be self sufficient.  With your donation we will be able to provide all participants transportation to and from their sessions, technology resources to monitor growth within the program and gain an understanding on basic technology.  B Helpful to our senior citizen community that once were Helpful to you.
