Hello! My name is Betsy Christianson. I am a proud wife to Sam, and mother of two beautiful children, ages 4 years and 19 months. I work as a training specialist for a large agriculture and construction equipment dealership headquartered here in the Red River Valley. I also have the pleasure of serving on the Girl Scouts - Dakota Horizons Board of Directors. I am extremely passionate about health and wellness, living a life of purpose and intention, and giving back to the people around me. This is your chance to help me change the lives of our girls today.
On February 21, 2016, I will be running the Disney Princess Half Marathon at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I'm using this run as an opportunity to raise funds for Girl Scouts - Dakota Horizons and I would greatly appreciate your support. My goal of $3,000 can help 79 Daisy and Brownie-aged girls with registration dues and uniform components; provide 12 girls the opportunity to have an experience of a lifetime at Girl Scout camp, or ensure over 200 girls from low-income families the opportunity to enroll in Girl Scouts for one year.
Girl Scouts is about empowering girls, helping them develop their full potential, developing values to guide their actions, providing the foundation for sound decision making and contributing to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others. By modeling authentic, purposeful leadership we can help girls develop their own strong sense of self and their own leadership style.
I'm looking forward to this experience, but most of all, I'm looking forward to making a difference in the lives of the girls in our community. Thank you for your support!

Girl Scouts - Dakota Horizons is a 501c(3) organization. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to the girls in my council, which serves members in North Dakota, South Dakota, 13 counties in Minnesota and one county in Iowa. I am personally responsible for all expenses accrued. The Girl Scouts - Dakota Horizons is not funding this trip in any way.
