Hi Everyone,
Firstly thank you for supporting and listening to Bereavement Room Podcast.
As Bereavement Room Podcast grows it demands more of my time whilst working I now have to ask the community and listeners to donate what they can to cover the costs already spent.
Bereavement Room was set up to tackle the conversation around bereavement, grief and identity across the diaspora that is often excluded from mainstream channels and platforms. Having gone through horrendous experiences I felt compelled to create BR to help support others that may have gone through poor experiences too or simply want to contribute to a space that helps support the people of the diaspora. So that we can have a safe space to share lived experiences and tell our story whilst amplifying our voice which is not very prevalent in the society we live in today.
It takes considerable amount of time to research, produce, edit and deliver Bereavement Room Podcast as a whole. I have invested hours and hours and it is now time for me to ask you to give me the same investment if the podcast is of value to you.
Although we have a worldwide listen and have surpassed 7k downloads it is still not possible to cover the costs through monetization and there is no sponsor behind Bereavement Room to help fund the costs. The podcast makes no money and is not-for-profit.
This means it is now unclear whether there will be a season 3 because of the time and money the podcast demands in order to deliver it.
Cost breakdown:
Hosting site costs - £100 a year (I have paid 2 years worth upfront) this enables you to listen to BR from any app.
Music and creative approx £150 total cost (Paid)
For the podcast to stay up from November 2021 I now need to cover the hosting costs spent so far which totals to £350.
My commitment to the target is that if we reach £350 I will produce a season 3 and deliver it in 2021. Any excess goes to future hosting site renewal costs, particularly from November 2021 which is next years renewal date.
If we do not reach the target then I will use any donations to cover the costs of what has already been spent to help keep both series 1 and 2 available on all podcast channels as long as possible.
So many of you have commented that you would like to make a small donation towards the podcast and also my self care whilst I work and deliver Bereavement Room. I would greatly appreciate any donation to help me continue deliver my work on the podcast.
Unfortunately I cannot accept any personal gifts such as giftcards or food etc as suggested by very kind people that support my work.
