Bench for Amanda Rowe

July 14, 2018 will mark the fifth anniversary of mom's death. I am hoping to raise $5,000 to be donated to the Friends of the Eastern Promenade to name a bench at the newly renovated Jacob Cousins Memorial in her honor. Mom loved nature and greatly admired Baxter's forethought in preserving this beautiful panoramic greenspace for present and future residents and visitors.  Today, the Friends of the Eastern Promenade carries on that legacy by working to preserve the park's significant historic public landscape, protect its environmental integrity, and enhance recreational use.

When mom moved in with me on the East End a few months before her death, she enjoyed going for walks on the Eastern Promenade trails every day. We found solace sitting on the benches and gazing out over the ocean. I am hoping that mom's bench will provide the same sense of solace to others.
