Support My Ride to Cornwall for Momentum

On Friday & Saturday, 15th-16th August, I will be taking on a huge personal challenge: cycling 415km (257 miles) from Beckenham, South East London, to New Polzeath, Cornwall—all in support of Momentum, an incredible charity that supports children with cancer and life-challenging conditions.

This ride is especially close to my heart. In March 2024, one of my closest friend’s daughters, Isla, was diagnosed with leukaemia. Since then, Momentum has been by her side, providing vital care and support through multiple rounds of treatment. Seeing the difference they have made for Isla and her family has inspired me to take on this challenge.

This isn’t my first attempt. Almost 10 years ago, I tried this ride and failed. But challenges are a part of life. I want to show Isla—and anyone else facing obstacles—that even if we don’t overcome them the first time, we keep going until we do.

I’ll be sharing a detailed route closer to the time, so if you’d like to cheer us on or even join in for a stretch, I’d love the support! Our ride will follow a route roughly parallel to the A303, passing through Somerset.

More information about Momentum Children's Charity: Momentum Children's Charity supports children, and their families, across Surrey and SW London who are faced with the diagnosis of cancer or another life-challenging condition.

We offer practical and emotional support through our family support programme; provide holidays, trips and treats to help during the stress of treatment; and implement projects within hospitals to help enhance the healing environment. At any one time, we support over 200 families.
