Naisha's Story

Donation protected
Naisha is the oldest daughter of Stephen and Vanada Woods. Her parents met while attending Morgan State University and fell deeply in love. They joined in holy matrimony on July 26, 1986. From their union five children were born, 2 girls and 3 boys. The couple was married for 23 years before Vanada departed this life on April 4, 2010 after battling an extend illness. In June 2014 Stephen Woods departed this life shortly after finding out that he had cancer.

Naisha shares this world with two younger siblings Sakenna and Horace Woods; along with her older siblings Jamal and Rahsann.

Sakeena is currently in elementary school, Horace is currently attending high school, Rahsann is currently in college, and Jamal is currently married with three children

Both of her parents departed this life suddenly and there was little time for preparations to be made for who would care for the younger siblings. Unfortunately the burden has fallen on Naisha. Jamal is struggling to make ends meet caring for his family so he is of little financial assistance. Rahsann is currently in college and is working part- time. Each of the older siblings are providing emotional support for each other but financially it remains a burden. While the siblings are trying to determine what is the best course for their family they too are struggling to adjust to the new roles that have been placed on them.

Both Naisha and I have worked together for approximately 2 ½ years. Working with Naisha is a true pleasure.  She's jovial, intelligent, and hard working. Naisha even kept this demeanor after her father had passed; in fact I did not even know her father had passed until about a week later.

Naisha would never ask for help of this sort so Spence, Sandra, and I (all co-workers) are sharing “Naisha’s Story” with the world in hopes that she receives some much needed help raising her younger siblings.

Please help us three show Naisha that she does not always have to be the rock of the family and that there are kind hearted people in this world that are willing to donate to help a good cause.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,

Matthew, Spence, and Sandra
