Hello all, my name is Anton D Park, I come from Newcastle in Enagland. I've worked as a yacht chef for over 13 years now, I've spent many of those years in the Caribbean Islands of Antigua, St Maarten, St Barth's, The BVI'S, The USV'S etc. All of which have been devastatingly affected by hurricane Irma!
During my time in yachting I have formed many friendships with the people of these islands. Seeing the affect the hurricane has had on everyone who lives there compels me to do something to help!
We have all seen the devastation that Hurricane Irma is causing across the Caribbean. For everyone, I'm sure it's heartbreaking to see the aftermath photos and videos being shared around the world. People have lost their homes, their livelihoods and even their lives and more is yet to come with Hurricane Jose following closely behind.
As a yacht Chef, I've been a regular visitor to the Caribbean, for both work and pleasure for many years and consider it my second home! I really would like your help to raise money to support the victims of Hurricane Irma and to make sure that all the funds raised get distributed to the right areas to try and help the local people rebuild their lives.
The monies raised will go towards helping various organisational relief efforts on the islands. I'm in close communication with Captain Lucille Frye in St Maarten, Barbara Davidson in Antigua and Eric Azagury in St Barth's. The money will be distributed where needed and together we will make sure it's used in the best way possible!
We're now in the process of withdrawing the funds that we have rasied during the past month. The funds will be withdrawn by myself and transfered directly to Lucille Frye's account. As you will all know Lucille manages BWA Yachting in Staint Martin, she has been an inspireration over the past few weeks and continues her amazing work! There's a long way to go with the recovery effort in the Caribbean. The money that we have rasied will be used by Lucille and her team to purchase further supplies where needed.
We'll post updates when we distriute any funds rasied!
