Hi, I’m Hayley and I run Fauna Mountain Cat Rescue where cats who need complex treatment to live are brought to the forefront and given a chance through fundraising from kind people like you.

batman is a 14 week old kitten who was found on the streets on Viñuela as a tiny baby and taken in by a lovely lady called Denise who catered to his every need whilst rescuing others alongside him.

unfortunately two weeks ago he suddenly began experiencing difficulty breathing and was immediately brought to the vet for assessment, asthma was considered, a potential infection was treated and he was given diuretics until a scan could be performed.

on the diuretics he is doing much better! However, his scan at MiVet Animal Hospital revealed a deformed sternum which is pushing against his lungs and displacing his heart, causing a build up of fluid. Unfortunately the case is so severe that it will eventually become fatal HOWEVER there is a surgery that can be performed by a specialist called a sternal luxation which costs just over €1000 (or around £800) and we would love to give this sweet loving little boy an opportunity to live a long, happy and normal life!
