Basketball Court Fund for Ballinkillen NS

The Parents Association of Ballinkillen National school are raising funds to finish the new basketball court in the school.

The site has been prepared for tarmacadam by a number of parents who provided their skills, time and machinery to get it to this point.

This involved taking up the old tarmac (which was on a very steep slope as you remember!), levelling it out, inserting filling and covering with stone.

The PA has actively fundraised for this over the past couple of years with fun runs, bake sales, clothes banks and flag days, but we need your help to get it over the finish line.

This includes

- Tarmacing of the site

- Basketball stand and nets

- Tennis net

- Line marking of basketball court and tennis court

None of the work to date would have been possible without the fantastic support of the parents and local community. The pictures tell the story of the amazing work done so far. The total cost of the court is €20,000 and €8,000 more is needed to completely finish. It would be great to have it done before the children return in September. Can you imagine their excitement when they see the fantastic new facility!!! This is in addition to the mud kitchen, sandbox and post office the PA provided for the school this year. The children are very lucky!
