Baru's Medical Journey With ITP: Help Us Fight
Donación protegida
Asking for help is never an easy thing to do. But my light, my love, my baby Baru has had numerous vet visits within a short span of time and was diagnosed with ITP and we’re facing countless more, as well as potential emergency visits, within the next month. ITP (Immune-mediated thrombocytopenia) occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys blood platelets, leading to a high risk of bleeding. Baru’s count was dangerously low, reading at 0. We aren’t sure if it’s primary (unknown cause) or if it’s secondary (underlying), and we’ll run testing to determine in the upcoming weeks. I’ve exhausted my limits mentally, emotionally, and financially and I just want to support him and get him the help he needs to recover without causing further stress on myself financially. While I am willing to do anything for my boy and have already previously put myself in $8K of his medical debt, I’ve worked tirelessly to get his medical credit card down to $2K as of this year.
He is the saving grace in my life. We’ve been through so much in these short seven years; from hurricanes, to mental health crises, a pandemic, losses of loved ones, and everything good and bad in between. The love I feel for him is immeasurable to any love I’ve ever known. Any support to help us both get through this would be undoubtedly appreciated more than you’ll ever know. The odds for ITP are fairly positive and with your help, we can fight this. We can be part of the positive statistics.
If you’re a complete stranger reading this; first of all, I’d like to thank you for sticking through with me this far. I hope this makes you think of that one pet/loved one that left a massive impact on you as Baru has me
