Barry's Memorial Bench

Greetings, friends,

We, the Portland contingent of those who love Barry, have reserved a memorial bench to celebrate and remember him. It's in Cathedral Park, right by the Willamette river, with a view of the water and Forest Park on the other side, just a few minutes' walk from the dwellings where he spent the last years of his life.

We think it fitting that it be here, in the last place he called home, in a stunningly beautiful park where he spent time laughing and loving. And being silly. It will be a place we can come to remember him, and do the same. And have a burrito with him. He loved burritos.

We're working on the plaque inscription. The aim is to capture a bit of Barry's profound and wistful insight, humor, and his passion for music.

$5,000 gets the bench for 10 years. The plaque will cost $250-$400, depending on the final design. Anything helps.
