Barry Roth's Run for a Cause

Donation protected
Barry Roth’s Run for a Cause at the 35th Annual St. Patrick’s Day 5k on March 16th, 2019 in Memory of his son, Jamie Roth.

Linda and I would like to keep Jamie's legacy as a volunteer for Project Healing Waters Fly fishing Colorado Springs chapter ongoing. This organization is dedicated to a commitment to aid veterans in support of their physical and psychological needs, as a result of their serving in our armed forces, through fly fishing trips, fly tying and rod building. I will run in the St Patrick’s day 5 k race, again this year, on Saturday March 16th at 10:00 am in down town Colorado Springs. We raised a significant amount of donations last year and would like to better that amount in 2019. Please share this "Go Fund Me" page with your friends. If you would like to join me in the race, please click on the link below to register and join me at the starting line.

Thank you in advance for your support.
Barry, Linda, and family.

A little more about Jamie and Barry.

Jamie found immense joy in volunteering for Project Healing Waters. His extraordinary talent as an angler, combined with his desire to help fellow veterans find peace on the water led him to Project Healing Waters. He volunteered with this great organization for several years. Whether it was tying flies, guiding, fundraising, or promoting their cause, he always found great pleasure in it.

It is a great honor for Barry to carry on his son’s legacy by combining his personal passion for running and affinity for fly fishing to support the mission of Project Healing Waters. Barry started running competitively in 1982 and has since run well over 50,000 miles and participated in over 30 marathons, including 10 Pikes Peak Marathons. Barry helped Jamie to find joy in competitive running which led to Jamie winning the State Mile Championship when he was 14 years old. While Jamie and Barry ran several races together their shared passion was found on the water chasing hogs. Together they have caught and released over 300 trout that were over 20 inches in length. Like his son, Barry is also a Veteran of the United States Army. Barry proudly served in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart and wishes to support his fellow veterans in their recovery through Project Healing Waters
