Barriga Cheia - 'Belly Full'

Barriga Cheia (Belly Full) is a project created by a group of Brazilian women with the purpose of bringing food during the holidays season to at least 250 people who are living on the streets of Vancouver  (accordingly to Homeless Count, 2,095 residents identified as homeless and 547 people were living on the Vancouver's streets). This year, we will be providing food to at least 250 people on December 21st - celebrating Winter Solstice. 

As you might know, Brazilian women love to take care of people and, one of the biggest ways that they show care, is by making sure everyone has a Barriga Cheia (belly full). With the participation of women and restaurants, both Brazilian, this project takes to the streets of Vancouver a little human warmth to those who live on the street during the holidays.

For us, Brazilian women living in Vancouver, this is an opportunity to thank the country that has received us with open arms, and it is also a way of showing our gratitude for the city we call 'home'.

We are seeking monetary donations that will cover the costs for the meal’s preparation. Any help is welcome. The Barriga Cheia (Belly Full) thanks you!

Barriga Cheia é um projeto desenvolvido por um grupo de mulheres brasileiras com o objetivo de alimentar pelo menos 250 pessoas nas ruas de Vancouver durante o Natal (segundo 'Homeless Count ' 2,095 residentes se identificam homeless e 547 pessoas estão vivendo na ruas de Vancouver). Este ano alimentaremos pelo menos 250 pessoas morando nas ruas no Dia 21 de Dezembro - exatamente na celebração do Solstício de Inverno.

Como muitos sabem as brasileiras adoram cuidar do outro e, uma das melhores formas de cuidado é ter certeza que todos estão de Barriga Cheia. Com a participação dessas mulheres e restaurantes, ambos brasileiros, essa iniciativa leva às ruas de Vancouver um pouco de calor humano durante as festas natalinas.

Para nós, mulheres brasileiras vivendo em Vancouver, é uma oportunidade de agradecer a terra que nos recebeu de braços abertos e mostrar a nossa gratidão pela cidade que chamamos "casa".
