My sister Barbra is one of the most resilient people I know, but she's faced some devastating setbacks in the past year. We're hoping to gather some support to help her get back on her feet.

Last year, after 14 years, Barbra was unexpectedly laid off from a job she loved when the company downsized. This was a huge blow, but with a solid job history she was optimistic and began her job search. Then, a freak accident resulted in a shattered tibia. The recovery process has been long and painful, adding physical strain to her emotional and financial burden.

She was excited when she received what appeared to be a fantastic job offer from GE Healthcare. Unfortunately, it turned out to be an elaborate scam. She followed what she thought were the correct procedures and now has had to close all her bank accounts. To make matters worse, because Barbra was a co-signer on our Mom's account, the bank took a significant sum of money from her, adding to the financial struggle.

Barbra is a proud and independent person and asking for help is something she never imagined she'd have to do. However, she's now facing a financial crisis due to these unforeseen circumstances. The funds raised will be used to help Barbra cover living expenses, including her mortgage, utilities, groceries and medical bills. It will also help to replenish the money taken from our Mother's account.
