Bandimere Speedway God and Country Defense Fund

For 63 years, Bandimere Speedway has been a place where people who love cars, speed, and competition have come to celebrate American freedom together.  Our international family of racers and fans now spans generations and we are in danger of losing it all.

Since its modest beginnings in 1958, when John and Frances Bandimere laid their first track down to provide a safe place for kids to race off the street and built a small set of grandstands for people who wanted to watch, through the efforts of John Bandimere, Jr. and his siblings, in-laws, children, grandchildren, and countless loyal volunteers and employees, Bandimere Speedway has reached iconic status as the most unique and beautiful drag racing facility in the world for professionals and amateurs alike.

The facility spans 160+ acres and comfortably seats 23,500 racing fans of all ages nestled against the beautiful Rocky Mountains just West of Denver, Colorado.  But, Public Health "Orders" purport to limit the facility to 175 people per event with other strict requirements for social distancing and limits on food service, masking, etc.

On Thursday, July 2, 2020, the Jefferson County, Colorado, Health Department obtained a Temporary Restraining Order mandating that the track comply.   Later that evening, armed agents from the Colorado Liquor and Tobacco Enforcement Division showed up demanding scores of documents and records.  On July 3, 2020, the Colorado Department of Revenue summarily suspended Bandimere's liquor license with an order that said: "Upon information and belief, Licensee intends to disregard the Temporary Restraining Order and hold one or more additional events ... (without complying with Executive and Public Health "Orders").   On July 6, after the Independence Day Bandimere God and Country Rally for America with jet cars and fireworks, JeffCo Health Department filed for a preliminary injunction and the Bandimeres were in court for two days.  A District Court Judge has taken the matter under advisement.

John Bandimere, Jr. has been a community leader for 3/4 of his 82 years.  He was in direct communication with the Director of JeffCo Public Health about the event as late as the morning of Independence Day, July 4, 2020.  He was told in no uncertain terms that there was no intention to shut down the track, the race, or the fireworks and rally in support of America that were scheduled to occur as they have for decades.  When the talks broke down and were referred back "to the lawyers," and as the fans and patriots poured in, we took the agreement with the Director at face value, decided that enough is enough and, while still implementing monumental safety measures, turned the event into the largest pro-God, pro-Country Rally for America in the state.  With a prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem, and our Faith in God as our only shield, Independence Day in America was celebrated as it should be.

Now, Bandimere Speedway faces contempt charges, a preliminary injunction requiring a "safety plan" for each event for health department approval and, we expect, more punishment and interference with our operations.  The Health Department has said they will pursue all legal remedies to force compliance.  Bandimere has already lost hundreds of thousands of dollars with their efforts at "compliance" for over 3 months.  The track is on the verge of being shuttered.  Forever.  We need your help to survive and to fight back.  We're fighting for all of us.  COVID-19 is not crushing our society.  Our masters in government are.

Please share our story and do what you can.  All money received goes directly to Bandimere Speedway to prevent closure, to defend itself against the state of Colorado and Jefferson County Health, and to file a Federal Civil Rights Complaint to stop these arbitrary, capricious, and destructive governmental actions.

Finally, please Like the Facebook page that was set up on our behalf: "I Stand With Bandimere."  Tweet your support with hashtag #IStandWithBandimere.  Most importantly, say a prayer for us daily and thank God that we are in this fight together.

God Bless America.  Enough is enough!
